Achievements of the Department:
About 69 students have been awarded Ph. D. in all five specializations of Home Science and Home Economics from 2019 to 2024. Currently 26 students are registered in the department for Ph.D. in all five specializations of Home Science and Home Economics.
Many research papers have been published in various national and international journals by faculty members. Faculty members are editors/referees/reviewers for esteemed national and international journals, Ph. D thesis examiners for various Universities, appointed on various academic bodies of the University and other Universities. All faculties are life members of various academic and professional bodies.
Consultancy Services Offered:
Department provides Diet Consultancy, Food Analysis Service, Housing Interiors and Landscape Design Service and Ergonomics Consultancy.
The provision of the assessment of body composition & bone mineral density is open for public on every Saturday from 10.00 am to 11.30 am. This provision is free of cost for RTMNU employees.
Expertise available in the Department:
Expertise with respect to patient counseling, therapeutic nutrition, community nutrition & public health as well as food analysis for nutrients, housing interiors, landscape designing & ergonomics are available with the Department.
The Nagpur University was established on 4th August, 1923 with six affiliated colleges and 927 students. During 1947, the number of students increased to about 9000 accompanied by the improvement and diversification of curricula and expansion in the range of subjects.
